The Concepts of Affect and Emotion in the Philosophy of Gilbert Simondon

The article highlights the role that notions of affect and emotion play in the ontogenesis of Gilbert Simondon and explores the meaning they assume in different dimensions of individuation (vital, psychic and collective). The analysis seeks to show the centrality of the affective-emotional issues, its relationship with key notions of this philosophical project (the preindividual, the transductive relation, the transindividual) and its positivity for a relational and processual understanding of the psychosocial realities.
