¿Fundamentan las cosas en sí los fenómenos? Contra una lectura causal general

En la discusión actual sobre el idealismo trascendental, el “giro metafísico” asume que la proposición “las cosas en sí fundamentan a los fenómenos” es una descripción general de interacción causal que toda interpretación debe explicar. Este trabajo cuestiona esa postura, argumentando que dicha afirmación se basa en una lectura descontextualizada del texto kantiano.
Al tratar los textos como un continuo sin contexto específico, se ignoran diferencias cruciales en los términos, llevando a interpretaciones unívocas erróneas. Para ilustrarlo, usaré los casos de Watkins y Rosefeldt, mostrando cómo su lectura desatiende las particularidades textuales.
Luego, abordaré una posible objeción desde el texto de UE 08:215. Concluiré destacando las ventajas de mi análisis: primero, la necesidad de analizar la proposición en contextos textuales específicos; segundo, la posibilidad de distinguir dos estratos en la KrV sobre el uso de la distinción crítica y el término “cosa en sí”. Esto permite abordar los problemas del idealismo trascendental con mayor precisión.
