The use of the authority of the greek philosophers in the kabbalistic work Puerta del Cielo of Abraham Cohen de Herrera
Keywords:
Kabbalah, Sincretism, Renaissance, First Cause, HerreraAbstract
The article shows the emergence of Greek philosophers’ ideas in the kabbalistic work Gate of Heaven of Abraham Cohen de Herrera with particular interest on those chapters which emphasize their authority in the proof of statements echoed by Herrera, as the existence of the first cause. It also reveals how such authority delves into the syncretism that characterizes the whole work of Herrera.
