Present Time History and the need for distance in time: exploratory notes for a possible intersection

This essay examines the problem of distance in time, in the context of historical hermeneutics, and in reference to the thoughts of Gadamer and Ricoeur, in order to connect this issue with the conditions of possibility of Present Time History, a historiographical current which has developed signifi cantly in recent decades.
