Diamela Eltit, Essay, Body, Violence, MemoryAbstract
The aim of this article is to analyze the essay works of Diamela Eltit considering those points that have been a constant in her production and where are woven, metaphorically or allegorically, historical uncertainties such as the body and violence to elaborate a political reading of History through the body in order to read the signs of social and mental distress of a society that continuously tries to erase its past. These essays, most of them published in magazines, newspapers, seminars and conferences aim to discuss current issues and dialogue with public opinion, both national and international, constituting a plot in the process of construction of memory that is quite gray and nebulous.
