Childhood, Romanticism and Modernity
Keywords:
Childhood, Romanticism, Symbolism, Modernism, ModernityAbstract
The present work examines the existing relationships between childhood and romanticism, specifically the way in which this was a subject of representation for some German, English and French authors. Likewise, it is related to Modernism, its late aspect in Hispanic America, especially in Rubén Darío’s work. Finally, this work establishes that childhood is one of the subjects explored by Modernity within the frame of the Western culture, which is expressed in a complex and revealing way, without which it is not possible to understand all of the later poetic production.
